On Aug. 15, Austin ISD will host the 10th annual Back to School Bash Celebration and Safety Fair from 9 a.m.–noon at the Palmer Events Center. More than 130 community and district organizations will offer exhibits for AISD families to learn more about the services and programs that can help students enjoy a safe and successful school year. Registration for exhibitors closes July 6 at the end of the business day.
Austin ISD is also providing free shuttles at locations throughout the city.
Key services
- Presentations on safety and educational best practices will help prepare students and parents for the first day of school and beyond.
- Nurses from Dell Children’s/AISD Health Services will provide free vaccinations (families must present student shot records), and Kids Vision for Life Central Texas may be providing free vision exams and eyeglasses.
- Free backpacks! Austin ISD students must be present to receive a free backpack filled with school supplies, while supplies last.
The need
It takes a whole community to ensure that our students get off to a safe and productive start. With attendance expected to exceed 8,000 this year, we need your help. Please consider participating as a sponsor or a volunteer for this year’s celebration. With a variety of sponsorship levels and benefits, there are a number of options to help make this a memorable event for our students. Your gift will help ensure that each student receives a backpack and school supplies.
