Good morning,
Because of the recent flooding, the city of Austin’s Emergency Operations Center has issued a boil water notice for all retail and wholesale locations throughout the city.
We are continuing to monitor the ongoing situation. The district has enough resources on hand for today, and all Austin ISD campuses and offices are operating on a normal schedule.
In light of the water boil notice, we have taken the following precautions:
-
Drinking fountains are being covered or closed so students do not use them.
-
Cafeteria managers are following boil instructions for safety.
-
Menus have been adjusted to include hot vegetables, and fruits such as apples and oranges. No salad bars will be offered today.
Students are encouraged to bring their own drinking water or other beverage such as juice, sports drinks, etc. from home. Schools will also supply any student in need with water. Campuses will accept donations of bottled water in the meantime.
Our students' health and safety is of utmost importance to us. Thank you for your flexibility and support.
