School starts on September 8th and we realize that you may have questions about what that will look like. Austin ISD released the most comprehensive overview of our reopening plans and we encourage you to review the document that addresses these specific areas. 

• In the meantime, here is an outline of some basic need-to-know information about the start of schoolThe first day of school is September 8^th. Students will join their advisory class at 8:15 am remotely (virtually).
• The first four weeks – from September 8th to October 5th - will be remote (virtual). If your student needs access to technology please contact us directly at 512-414-3243 at your earliest convenience.
• BLEND will be the primary platform used for virtual instruction. Students should login to their Advisory Class through blend at 8:15 a.m. on September 8th and will then follow a B-Day Schedule (Periods 2, 4, 6 and 8).
• The following four weeks, from October 5th to October 30th, will be a phase-in period. Families will choose if they prefer on campus or virtual learning for this period. Families who prefer on Campus Learning will be phased in gradually keeping safety guidelines a priority. It is important to note: even students who choose on campus instruction may have some days where they are still doing remote learning during this period.
• Families will choose if they prefer on campus or remote instruction within two weeks of returning to campus October 5th via a survey/form that will be sent to your email.

Student Log in instructions for the first day of school

1.  Go to - portal.austinisd.org
2. Enter the student’s username - “s” + ID Number (Example - s1008595)
3. Enter the student’s password - First capitalized letter of the student’s last name + date of birth + “s” (Example - G031808s)
4. Click the Email tile. If you do not see the Email tile, look it up on the search bar.
5. Check your Email (your student schedule will be sent on Friday September 4, 2020)
   
   OR
6. Click the BLEND tile. If you do not see the BLEND tile, look it up on the search bar.
7. Once inside the BLEND tile, find and click on your Advisory class and follow the instructions.
8. Your Advisory teacher will provide you with more detailed instructions to access your student schedule.

Instrucciones para el estudiante para el primer día de clases

Austin ISD APP – COVID-19 “Screen and Go”

Screenings - All staff, students, and visitors will be required to screen for COVID-19 symptoms before coming onto a campus or other Austin ISD facility each day.

Self-screen - Staff, students, and visitors may self-screen by using the Austin ISD application available on any smartphone or tablet. Locate the free Austin ISD Mobile App in the digital store for your mobile device by searching for Austin ISD.

Both on-site and self-screening will include staff, students (parents and caregivers administering), and visitors taking their own temperature and answering a series of questions (listed below). Based on the responses to the screening questions, the Austin ISD application will display either a green ✓ or a red X.

Upon arriving at the campus or facility, staff, students, and visitors will show their screening results and will be allowed to enter if a green ✓ is displayed. If a staff member, student, or visitor receives a red X, they must stay at home. Parents/guardians will be able to show screening results for their student.

Aplicacion Austin ISD - COVID-19 "Screen and Go"

Evaluaciones: todo el personal, los estudiantes y los visitantes deberán evaluar los síntomas de COVID-19 antes de ingresar al campus u otra instalación del Austin ISD todos los días.
